Baby Geiger Cupcake Revelation Party!
I brought in cupcakes iced in pink and blue icing with a big question mark on the top. The kids wore pink and blue to school depending on what they thought my baby was going to be. I had all the kids bite into the cupcakes at the same time to find blue icing on the inside. It was very fun for me to see all the excited faces to find out I am going to have a baby boy!!
Principal's List and Honor Roll Awards!!
1st Quarter Awards Ceremony- Wednesday, October 26th after Chapel
After chapel, each teacher in grades 3-7 awarded the students that made the Principal's List (Straight A's) and those that made the Honor Roll (A's and B's), as well as those students who had Perfect Attendance. The students were called up by name, received a certificate, and coupons to McDonald's and Chick-Fil-A. Third grade had a total of 10 students out of 15 make either Honor Roll or Principal's List. I am so proud of these students and hope the awards ceremony serves as a motivator to all students to strive for academic excellence! We will do an awards ceremony after the 2nd quarter to reward students for grades for the 2nd quarter. Please continue to encourage good grades and attendance! Thank you to those parents who were able to attend to cheer on your child!

Our Field Trip to see "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever" Play
December 6, 2011
Today, our class traveled to Mesa Arts Center to see the play "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever." We had wonderful parent drivers and chaperones support us on the field trip. When we arrived at the Mesa Arts Center, we were escorted to AMAZING seats! Our class was able to sit in the 2nd row from the stage and in the center! We really enjoyed reading the book before seeing the play, and loved understanding the true meaning of Christmas is what Jesus did for us by coming to earth as a baby to save us from our sins.
"Christmas in the Country"-
Music Christmas Concert (Dec. 13, 2011)
Mrs. Rocca, our music teacher, put on an amazing Christmas Program for our school on December 13th. The theme this year was "Christmas in the Country" and portrayed the birth of Jesus Christ as the real reason to celebrate Christmas. The 3rd graders dressed in country attire and sang beautifully! After the Christmas program, the School Board gave GREAT news about our school! We do not have any debt and we are excited to continue to expand! After the quick meeting, the gym was open for the Scholastic Family Night Book Fair, as well as refreshments and other fun vendors. It was a great night and everyone in our class participated!! (Thank you Virgie for sending me these photos! If you have any of your kids that you would like to send me to add to this website, please feel free!)
Christmas Door Decorating Contest
The PTF asked the teachers to decorate our doors in a Christmas theme for a classroom contest. The upstairs classes (3rd-7th) were in competition with each other, and the downstairs classes (preschool-2nd grade) were in competition with each other. We had fun decorating our door and....... WE WON FIRST PLACE!!!! The 2nd grade class won 1st place for the downstairs competition. Here is a picture of our door (and yes, it had real Christmas lights and played the Hawaiian Christmas song "Mele Kalikimaka" all day long)!
HAPPY 2012!!!
I am so excited that I was able to come back after Christmas vacation and start the new year off with my kids. We have hit the ground running and are already in full swing of academics! Here are a few pictures to show you how much our class has grown since the beginning of the year.
3rd and 4th Grade Historical Wax Museum
The 3rd and 4th graders were given a huge assignment to research a historical figure. This project included writing a report about the historical person, memorizing a speech about the person, creating a poster board about the person, as well as dressing up to imitate the person. I am so proud of all the kids and their hard work!
McDonald's Field Trip
Last field trip of the year!
The 3rd graders went to McDonald's in May for the last field trip of the year. It was so fun! The students were able to take orders of people in the drive-thru, make smoothies, learn about the history of McDonald's, and take a tour throughout the entire restaurant (even the freezer!).
